La Serenissima does the same for Venice AI: every day we assay every Venice-hosted model in public — reasoning, structure, obedience, false refusals, speed — and $DUCAT holders judge them blind. Open data. No one can quietly debase a model again.

I · Il Saggio — the daily assay
Fineness of every Venice-hosted model
36 deterministic tests per model, every day at 06:00 UTC. No LLM judge, no opinions: answers are either right or wrong. Fineness is expressed like gold, in parts per thousand (‰). A sudden drop raises a debasement alert.

II · La Ballotta — the blind ballot
Two models. No names. You judge.
Venice invented the secret ballot — the ballotta. Ask anything: two Venice models answer anonymously, you pick the better one, then the names are revealed. We record the vote, never your words. Reserved to $DUCAT holders; inference is on the house.

III · Why Venice needs this
Privacy has a blind spot
Venice cannot look
Venice AI keeps no logs of what you ask. That is the promise — and it means they have no feedback loop. No ratings, no regressions caught in the wild, no way to know which model users actually prefer.
So we look, in public
Il Saggio measures what can be measured objectively, every day, and chains each day's results to the last so nobody — not us, not them — can rewrite history. La Ballotta adds the human signal, opt-in and anonymous.
And we give it all away
Every score, every alert and every ballot is served as open JSON. Venice's team, and any developer choosing a model, can use it for free. Inference is paid through Venice, so usage here is demand for their network.
